An original painting of Heaven on Earth-The Spring Flowers of Cambridge University Botanical Gardens in acrylics, glitters and metallic paints. Inspired by the numerous flowers in bloom on my latest visit in March. An oasis in the heart of this bustling city the gardens give a sense of peace and beauty as a time out from the world.

I have created many paintings over the years inspired by visits to famous gardens but had never visited The Cambridge University Botanical Gardens in Cambridge until last year and then again recently. The drifts of daffodils looked stunning in their majestic setting amongst the buildings of Cambridge the commons and the ancient trees throughout the gardens them self. The old glasshouses full of early flowers from tropical delights are a special place to escape and while away an hour or two. The different gardens provide variety of colour, form and depth as you wander at any time of the year. This garden truly is heaven on earth.
