About Me
I create colourful, emotional paintings and installations of nature and flowers that make people smile, and feel happy when they see them.
Imagine a world of vibrant colours, a heart full of happiness and joy, nature and flowers everywhere you look, afternoon tea with cake and chocolate and a glass of bubbly Prosecco, walks in the dawn chorus or the winter snow nibbling your nose and hands, a cosy fire and a handmade crocheted blanket for warmth and a dog snuggled by your side. Welcome to my world.
Wildlife conservation and the environment, creating art, people and communities, walking my dog, cycling the flower filled lanes, delicious food and chocolate, delicate flowers, secretive mammals and flying birds, mysterious historic places, travelling to learn about the world and being inspired by my experiences are a quick snapshot of me. These are my passions, the things that make me tick! The things I love!
Happiness is important to me, often underrated by many , and if I can do something, just a little something to just bring a smile to someone then that’s a powerful role that I can play in this crazy world in which we live. But for me and many of my clients too, it goes much deeper than that as I am also about creating connections. Between people and the natural world. Between the mind, body, energy and spirit. Between people, their stories and their messages that they can bring to the world. Between art and what we see and what we think and can take action on. I love to take these connections and work with communities to create art for their place, their spaces, bringing them together in a shared experience.
Heal the World
My art is about allowing the creation and the magic to unfold naturally, in the moment, with imagination and in an intuitive way that evolves before me as I work on each piece I create. I like to embrace the unknown by taking inspiration from my experiences, connections, emotions and knowledge of the world around me into what I create. I rarely plan any of my work as I trust myself on an emotional, energetic and creative level to create the work that I feel deep within my heart.
The Sky of Poppies
My work always comes from my heart. It comes from my spirit and emotions, creating art that is vibrant, energetic and colourful with deep meaning. It is taking my imagination and putting the intangible beauty into an earthly form for people to understand, connect with and smile with. My paintings and installations are created intuitively, trusting that the emotions and energy of the place or subject will appear through me into the art in my distinctive style. I love colour, metallics and sparkle as these create a positive happy mood in my work as you view each piece. Happiness, energy and nature are my inspiration and these alongside the stories in each piece of work aim to connect you the viewer to the story and to the beauty of nature.

I am passionately inspired by nature and the outdoor world and this comes from the thought that nature is huge but so intricate as well, it is simple and complex and it revolves around a delicate balance of life. We can have huge or small impacts on it by the choices that we make but also more importantly by choices made for us by big corporations and governments. We should never feel so small that we cannot raise our voices to speak for nature and the world in which we all live together.
Before art found me I was a professional wildlife conservationist for 18 years. Something I have been passionate about since I was a small child having been a birder since my father felt I was old enough to survive the early mornings of the dawn chorus! Nature has always fascinated me and provided me with so many special moments alongside those of much heartbreak as I have witnessed its decline as I have grown up. I truly believe that if we love something we will look after it and this is my mission through my art. To bring happiness, positivity and love for nature to people who will then I hope take action to protect it in the future. I want to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at the world around them, to discover beauty in unusual places and to feel a part of a bigger connected world.
My art is a constant journey of discovery, leading to new places and new ideas. There will never be enough time to create all that I want and need to show to the world. I want to be inspired by the seasons, the changing pace of life, by peoples connection and experiences of nature, and the seasons of flowers. I want to be out in all weathers, in all seasons, rain wind or sun experiencing all that nature can throw at us. I want to feel alive, making my difference to the world.I want always to be brave enough to try new techniques and methods and new subjects as they appear in my thoughts. I want to be me. Always.
Each artist needs to follow their own spiritual path. You have to believe that it’s your dream and your life and you have your own permission to be who you want to be. As an artist you must work and create constantly to let your ideas or energies become reality. You have to make space for the ideas and inspiration to flow to create and develop new work. No one can tell you what to do. You act on your own intuition and forge your own path. You need to be tenacious, to work hard, and to be the artist that you need to be.
With lots of happiness, smiles and colour love
