Cedric knew he wasn’t like other owls. He loved eating chocolate ice cream, wearing rose petal parfum, and wearing his brightest party clothes every day. He didn’t care what other owls said. He just loved being himself.  

Cedric the Night Owl wants you to know that

Night Owl hasn’t gotten any scientific name as not a Real Owl, but everyone loves him regardless. Night Owls are people and Cedric who are active and awake late at night, often into the early morning, and sleep later into the morning, while the opposite of a night owl is a lark or early bird who is someone who tends to go to sleep early and also wakes up early to begin their day. 

The book was created  for anyone and everyone who needs a little lightness and lots of colour in their life. It is for parents, grandparents, and any caring adult to read with children to talk about life’s little messages and to learn a little about our beautiful nature. This book is a gentle, happy place full of my paintings of British animals and birds with their unique characters and messages of life. It is inspired by my work as a nature conservationist, artist, and a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist. I have included a few facts about each creature as I love gentle learning and looking at the nature around us, and I have, over many years, encouraged others to do the same. I hope these little messages of life will encourage you to find things that make you and others feel good. I also hope they will make you smile just a little or even a lot. 50% of the profits of the book will go to charities that care for and protect our precious nature.

I created this book after the death of my beloved dog Poppy which meant in my grief I could not paint my usual large paintings. I just felt like painting smaller and animals which I hadn’t done for many years. This book is the result of that work. The wisdom messages come from my work as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist where we support clients to look for the positives in life and to take the small steps that they can to help them to feel better. I offer this therapy alongside my work as an artist.

I am intending to create a series of these books the next of which will be about garden wildlife and the small things we can do to help it in our own gardens.

Each original painting is 40 x 30 x 4cm in size and will include post to the UK.  For elsewhere please contact me for a quote.

No frame is needed for this vibrant wall art, as the edges are painted too so you don’t have to add a frame.  Fixings are included.
