Description
An original flower painting of the flowers of Hidcote House and Gardens A national Trust Property in England which was created after a inspiring visit in 2023. Every corner, nook and cranny brought new revelations in a peaceful, healing and calming place. It is somewhere I had had on my most wanted list of gardens and it certainly did not disappoint.
Hidcote is described on the National Trust website as “a world-famous Arts and Crafts-inspired garden nestled in a North Cotswold hamlet, created by passionate plantsman and talented designer, Major Lawrence Johnston. Covering an area of 10.5 acres the garden takes visitors on a journey through intimate formal areas revealing a different atmosphere or new vista at every turn. Smaller, more formal garden ‘rooms’ near the house, give way to more natural areas that blend in with the surrounding countryside further away.Using Hidcote as a ‘blank canvas’, Lawrence Johnston designed the garden in phases from 1907 to 1938. He furnished borders with newly discovered plants and exotic rarities gathered during plant collecting expeditions from around the world. “
Hidcote is an enchanting garden that captures all of the senses with its exquisite beauty, peace and tranquility amongst the rolling hills of the Cotswolds. It is somewhere I can see myself visiting again and again to top up the visions and scents of flowers in a stunning garden.
Having now visited Hidcote on a number of occasions I can truly say that each visit has not disappointed and in fact the opposite is true. The garden is inspiring and delightful at each visit with new flowers to delight at each season of the year.
I have created many paintings over the years inspired by visits to famous gardens including Monet’s Garden, Barnsdale Garden, The Eden project, Chelsea Flower Show, Kukenhof Gardens and many others far and wide and more local. There is something in my heart that makes me want to capture the beauty of flowers where they are found but also the spirit and feel of each place which is always unique to each one and brings that uniqueness to each painting in its feel, emotionsand colours.
Perfect for hanging as a dramatic piece for your walls, this painting will brighten up any dull day with its beautiful colours and use of glitter and metallic paints. The picture doesn’t do it justice, the flowers and grasses are made up of layers which glisten and shine as you view the painting from different viewpoints. This painting is very sparkly which cannot be seen well in photographs.
.No frame is needed for this vibrant wall art, as the edges are painted too so you don’t have to add a frame. Standing at 101 x 76 x 4cm in acrylic paints on a quality canvas. Fixings are included.
Please remember that Photographs do not show the gorgeous shimmer of the metallic paints and sparkly glitters. These will be a additional pleasure when you unpack your painting after purchase!
