This original flower painting was inspired by the flowers of the Taunton Flower Show, 2026 with sunflowers, daisies, roses, lavender and a host of smaller blooms on a background of gold leaf. Visiting the show I was struck by the variety of flowers and the passion of the people who grow and exhibit the flowers. Taunton Flower show is believed to the longest running show of its type in the country.
I hope that the Layered dots, lively brushwork and playful shapes build a busy, upbeat rhythm where each bloom keeps its own personality and emotional connection. Bright pops of magenta, lemon yellow and leaf green sit beside softer pastels. Flecks of gold leaf catch the light, adding a subtle shimmer that reveals new details as you move around the painting.
