Does it matter if I shop with small businesses? Surely it won’t make much of a difference to them?
WELL YES IT DOES! A HUGE DIFFERENCE!The following is the difference that it makes to me but imagine this difference all over the country to all those businesses trying to survive in this tough economic world…..
Every time someone spends their hard earned money with me it means a true genuine smile and gratefulness from me that you like or even love what I do so much that you will spend your money on my creations. It really is that simple!
Each £10 that you spend makes a huge difference to each of those small businesses. Imagine if 100 people spent only £10 then that is £1000 going into a business. If a 1000 people spent £10 then thats £10,000 a huge difference! Do you get that genuine smile in many big businesses on the high street?
It means that I can continue creating art that makes people smile and spend my life doing what I love to do-creating art and those smiles for others as well as inspiring others to find their creativity and give up jobs they are unfulfilled in and find their true soul purpose in life!(yes I do know this has happened for a number of people).
It means that I can afford to look at producing other products that support other businesses such as my printer in a small market town in his business, Peterborough Prison women printing my mugs where surplus money enables them to invest in new equipment and goes to charities, a small business printing my water bottles…..
It means that I could give work to someone else-only part-time at the moment but from little acorns big oak trees grow……and I make sure they get paid before I do…….
It means that I can support other small businesses and artists, buying my turkey from our local shop who gets them from a small producer, buying a blanket from a local crafter that is unique and gorgeous and an artwork from another artist that encourages them to carry on, stopping at a farm coffee shop when out walking Poppy dog, buying fruit and veg from a local supplier……you get the idea……The money you spend in small businesses stays in the community more..63p from each pound stays as opposed to only 40p from big retailers…
It means that I can offer discounted workshops to schools and charities…and work with other artists helping them increase their reach and income…
I produce quirky different things that you are not going to see everywhere and that show your individuality……..
You get great service from me and you can ask me directly any questions that you may have about what I do, my products and about art…..ITS GOOD TO TALK!
And it enables me to take up opportunities that I could’nt otherwise….I do all this when you spend money with me……
So please if each person bought a couple or more gifts from a small business this christmas it would make a huge difference to so many other families this christmas #SHOPSMALL and each person behind that business would be so happy and grateful for your support……
